Governance

Frequency Governance currently uses Polkadot Governance V1: a tricameral governance structure which includes coordinated governance by three institutions: the Frequency Council, analogous to the Council in Polkadot Governance V1, the Technical Committee, analogous to the Technical Committee in Polkadot Governance V1, and token holder voting, analogous to the Public in Polkadot Governance V1.

Governance Parameters

These are important governance parameters, which may change over time.

• Launch Period: Public referendums are opened every 7 days.
• Voting Period: Votes are tallied every 7 days.
• Emergency Voting Period: The voting period for fast-tracked emergency referenda is 3 Hours.
• Minimum Deposit: Proposing a referendum requires a minimum deposit of 100 FRQCY.
• Enactment Period: The minimum period for locking funds and the period between a proposal being approved and enacted is 8 days.
• Cool-off Period: A vetoed proposal may not be re-submitted within 7 days.
